The number of employed persons rose by 0.4% and the unemployment rate (ILO) rose to 5.1% in the 3rd quarter 2025.
Neuchâtel, 13.11.2025 — In the 3rd quarter 2025, the number of employed persons in Switzerland rose by 0.4% compared with the same quarter of the previous year. During the same period, the unemployment rate as defined by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) increased from 4.7% to 5.1% in Switzerland and from 5.8% to 5.9% in the European Union (EU). These are some of the results of the Swiss Labour Force Survey (SLFS) conducted by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
